Brown Medical School/Women & Infant's Hospital Speech on "defining beauty"
The "Ritz" began as a health care conference at the Ritz in Boston, and is the brainchild of Doctor Skip Granai, the Director of the Program in Women's Oncology at Women & Infants Hospital of RI. Now held in Rhode Island, "The Ritz" is an annual celebration of, not only the science of cancer treatment, but also the care of the mind, body and spirit of survivors. Doctor W. Dwayne Lawrence, Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Women and Infants and Professor at Brown Medical School, moderated the 21st Ritz Symposium. He noted, "The program topic Finding Beauty---from Botox to Spirituality was a perfect forum for Jen Hoffman to tell her personal story regarding the founding of Emotional Armour." Jen participated in a panel discussion on Inner Beauty, led by Connie Howes, CEO and President of Women and Infants. "Her presentation and inspirational comments were an especially moving experience for the audience, many of whom were cancer survivors or supporters," Doctor Lawrence remarked, "and Jen's own inner beauty and compassion showed through."
