T-SHIRTS HIT HOME:
By Wendy Killeen
Since Jenifer Hoffman of Newburyport launched the company Emotional Armor in the Spring, her T-shirts emblazoned with positive messages have been a big hit.
And that's good news for the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center in Newburyport, which benefits from sales of the shirts.
Now, Hoffman's company has designed a special shirt for Jane Doe Inc., a statewide coalition that brings together people and organizations committed to ending domestic viloence and sexual assault.
Hoffman is being honored, and her Jane Doe shirt unveiled, on Wednesday during the Proclamation of Emotional Armor Day on Beacon Hill in Boston.
Scheduled speakers during the 1pm event at the State House's Great Hall include local state Senators Joan Menard and Stephen A. Baddour; State Representative Michael A. Costello; Red Sox player Gabe Kapler and his wife, Lisa Kapler; Suzanne Dubus, Executive Director of the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center; Mary R. Lauby, Executive Director of Jane Doe Inc., and Maureen Daley, of Newburyport Montessori School.
All net profits from the Jane Doe Inc T-shirt benefits the continued awareness and prevention efforts on a broader statewide level.
