In 2006, Jenifer launched Emotional Armor, a unique lifestyle messaging company that places simple, yet empowering words on varying and unexpected canvases. The net profits of Emotional Armor are contributed to ground breaking efforts in violence prevention. Emotional Armor messages are currently marketed on creative designs, including tee shirts, jewelry and footwear through nearly 20 boutiques, stores, e-commerce and hospitals nationwide.
Jen has been featured locally in Boston Magazine, The Improper Bostonian, The Boston Globe and WBZ radio, and nationally on CBS Television and VIV Magazine. The Massachusetts State Legislature proclaimed October 11, 2006 “Emotional Armor Day,” and Jen was a 2007 recipient of the “Unsung Heroine Award” from the Massachusetts Commission of the Status of Women for her innovative efforts in violence prevention. She has been nominated to the MCSW by Massachusetts Senators and State Representatives to sit on a task force that reports the current issues and status of women within the commonwealth. Some of Jen’s partners include members of the Boston Red Sox, City Sports, Saucony, and six of the boutiques carrying Emotional Armor were awarded “Best of Boston” in 2007 by Boston Magazine.
In 2007 Jen launched the first ever pilot program within a school setting that teaches children starting in Kindergarten the essential tools of self confidence and self esteem.
In an interactive, fun, age appropriate curriculum the children are empowered by implementing their skills of self belief.
Jen has presented Emotional Armor’s concept in forums that continue to promote her vision, including Brown University Medical School, Clark University’s Innovative Entrepreneurship Program, Boston College, The Massachusetts State House, numerous non profits and local schools as well as events and venues throughout the New England area.
Jenifer is married for fourteen years, the mother of three children, a triathlete, writer and passionate consumer of life experiences.
